From Where I Sit
Back home after the annual vacation on Ocracoke Island with just a few more remembrances. Daughter Tracy, son-in-law Rob and granddaughters Kyleigh Rose and Chloe Valeria were with us for eight days and it is such a joy to see those two young ones take to the beach and the water. I am wondering how many more jobs will be lost when and if the legislature in our fair state pass the mandatory sick leave bill now being proposed by a representative from Western PA. Small business owners, especially in start-up situations, will have another burden to carry should this bill become “law”. Full Story

Shine a Light
Over the centuries we have greatly disrupted our environment and eliminated much native vegetation. A recent article in the New York Times reported that 1/3 of our bird species are threatened. Doug Tallamy, popular author of “Bringing Nature Home,” tells us we are loosing species every day because of habitat loss. Full Story
