Coming off a season that saw the Hershey volleyball team win its last three games to finish 5-5 in Keystone Division games and 7-10 overall, including a district loss, coach Nate Erdman is looking at those numbers being a bit better this year. Full Story

Pitch, Hit and Run Contest
The Lower Dauphin Baseball League will host a pitch, hit and run competition at Sunset Park in Middletown, Saturday, April 14, at 9 a.m.
Registration to the event, which is open to ages 7 to 14, will begin at 8 a.m. Participants can also preregister for the event. There is no charge to enter the competition. Full Story
Optimist Club Hosts Bball Contest
The Hummelstown Optimist Club will host its annual Tri-Star Basketball contest Saturday, March 24, beginning at 9 a.m. in the Lower Dauphin Middle School gym.
The contest is open to boys and girls, ages 7 (and under) to 12.
All participants should be at the gym by 8:45 a.m. Bring your filled out application form to the contest. There will also be forms at the event. Full Story

Ties to Sun Country
City Islanders Coming to LD
Even though they call Harrisburg home, the City Islanders pro soccer team has deep roots here in Sun Country.
Owner Eric Pettis and his family live in Sun Country. His son, Garrett, graduated from Lower Dauphin and Lipscomb University, where he had all-star soccer careers. Another son, Isaiah, is a young athlete of much promise at Lower Dauphin Middle School. Full Story

Trinity UM Raystown Trip
Trinity United Methodist Church is sponsoring a trip to Lake Raystown Resort on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 7:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m.
The trip includes a buffet lunch cruise aboard the Proud Mary, followed by a train ride on East Broad Top Railroad and free time for gift shopping.

Lower Dauphin Care Club’s annual chicken barbecue, which helps the club pay for an after-graduation party for Lower Dauphin High School’s graduating seniors, will be held Saturday, April 7, at the Hummelstown Fire Department from 9 a.m. until sold out. Full Story
Bracale Scores Three in Opener
Freshman midfielder Lance Bracale scored three of DeSales University’s first five goals of the season and led the Bulldogs to a seasonopening 12-9 lacrosse victory over Immaculata on March 3.
Bracale, a Lower Dauphin grad, has started all five games for the Bulldogs and has scored four goals and registered three assists.
The team is 2-3 in the early going. Full Story
