Guarno Bows Out

Phil Guarno, one of the most vocal opponents of the proposed Chipotle restaurant, has resigned from the Derry Township Design Review Board, the position which gave him official standing in the debate.

In an April 11 letter to the township’s Board of Supervisors, Guarno, owner of Fenicci’s Restaurant, said:

Please accept this as my resignation from the Design and Review Board. After much consideration and in light of recent events, I have decided that the Political Arena is not one that I wish to continue to participate in. I am going to go back to enjoying my new son and making meatballs and pizza for my friends and customers. It has been a pleasure to serve on the Board the past 6 years and I wish you all the best. Of course my restaurants are always at your disposal for any community events or help that I can give.

I would especially like to thank and acknowledge Chuck for his advise, patience and guidance over the years.
