‘Hit Them Hard’

Sparks flew at Thursday’s Hummelstown Borough council workshop meeting, showing that council members are passionate about fiscal management, however there might be some daylight between their stances in terms of tax increases. A preliminary budget authorized by council for advertisement last month includes a real estate tax increase of .25 mills, or $54 annually per household based on the average […]

Letters to the Editor

Before we get to our one letter to the editor this week, a few announcements … In the photo album in last week’s issue (Dec. 8) we wrote that Brownstone Station Wellness Center at the Brownstone Station Business Center offers skincare and “buccal” massage, when in fact, they do not. It isn’t. Especially if you’ve been living for long here in Sun Country. Me, I grew up outside of […]

View From Dove Hill

The professor asked us to pull out our calculators and I sat there looking at her. She was about my age, and we locked eyes for a few minutes. […]

“Hummelstown Wins Cases On Annexation”

From the Dec. 14, 1972 issue of The Sun: In decisions handed down by Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas, Judge Warren G. Morgan ruled in favor of Hummelstown’s annexation of two tracts of land from Derry Township in what could well become landmark cases for this type of jurisdictional dispute throughout Pennsylvania. The two cases involved the Borough of […]
