Arline B. Rhoad, 89, formerly of East Hanover Township, Dauphin County passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown.

Born June 13, 1933 in Ono, she was a daughter of the late Ammon and Myrle (Hess) Bomberger. The widow of Warren J. Rhoad since March 2022 after 67 years of marriage, she was also preceded in death by brothers A. James and Charles E. Bomberger, sister Fern Erdman and grandson Casey Koons.

Retired from Lauck Brothers, Palmyra, she was a former employee of Bethlehem Steel and Stanley Home Products host. Arline was a member of Palm Lutheran Church, Palmyra. She was an avid reader and enjoyed word searches. Arline enjoyed everything with her family including attending family activities, cooking and baking for the family, and knitting afghans, especially as gifts for her grandchildren.

Devoted to her family, she is survived by children Lyn, wife of Gary Koons of Grantville, Steve, husband of Karen Rhoad of Hummelstown and Lisa, wife of Julian Mushinski of Grantville; sisters-in-law Brenda Bomberger and Jane Bomberger; grandchildren Rachel (Rhoad) Miller, Amanda (Rhoad) Butler, Jason Koons, Laura (Mushinski) Lambert, Michele (Koons) Hollinger, Jordan Mushinski, Spencer Rhoad, and Ruby Rhoad; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at her church, 11 West Cherry Street, Palmyra preceded by a viewing from 9:30 a.m. Private interment in Shells Cemetery, Grantville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Stephen Ministry of Palm Lutheran Church, 11 West Cherry Street, Palmyra, PA 17078.
