Jack Douglas Leiby, 86, of Hershey, passed away on November 23, 2022 in the Good Samaritan Hospital.
He was born May 20, 1936 in Sinking Spring, PA, son of the late Earl and Emily Leiby. Jack greatly enjoyed his long career with the former AMP Incorporated where he was manager of the Manufacturing Systems Analysis Sector until retiring.
He was an accomplished skier and served 46 years on the National Ski Patrol. Jack and Marilyn were both avid skiers who traveled extensively, skiing many of the iconic mountains on this continent and in Europe. Jack was an enthusiastic sailor who crewed on many long sailing trips. In younger years Jack competed successfully in amateur water-skiing tournaments and was a certified scuba diver with the Reading Scuba Club. He earned his private pilot’s license with the Reading Aero Club while still a teenager. He will be sadly missed by his many friends.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Leiby of Hershey; brother, Donald (Esther) Leiby of Sinking Spring; sister, Phyllis Heffner; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Delores Fitterling and brothers, William and Dennis Leiby.
A private funeral service will be followed by interment in the Hershey Cemetery.
