Sherry L. Bianchi


 

 

Sherry L. Bianchi, of Harrisburg, passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 14, 2022 at UPMC Community General Osteopathic Hospital just shy of her 75th birthday. She had been courageously battling Parkinson’s disease for over 20 years.

Sherry was born on May 27, 1947, in Hummelstown, the daughter of the late William and Genevieve (Look) Pace. She is survived by her son, Steven Bianchi of Harrisburg and brothers, Brad Pace of Carlisle and Charles Hummel of Palmyra, as well as numerous cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Roxanne D. Bianchi.

A 1965 graduate of Lower Dauphin High School, Sherry retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Revenue in 2007 after working more than 20 years. She was an avid sports fan, especially Notre Dame football. In her later years, Sherry became a cat lover and had several that were great companions to her in her retirement. She was a devoted mother and an extremely kind person who was well-liked by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Committal Service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday May 20, 2020 under the Pavilion at East Harrisburg Cemetery, 2260 Herr Street, Harrisburg, with Rev. Aaron Rutz officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation at www.parkinson.org.
